After dinner at Kelsey’s, we asked our waitress about a local ice cream shop. She pointed us to Scoops. Scoops isn’t fancy (it shares space with a gas station, for goodness’ sake), but the ice cream was de-li-cious. I brought home a menu to tell you what kind of home-churned goodness this was, but apparently I brought the wrong one, as this one features the deli sandwiches. So I can’t tell you any more than this: the ice cream was lighter than air, and positively fluffy with evidence that it had met a churn much more recently than the 31 flavors I’m used to around here. It was delicious. The location isn’t much to speak of, but it’s very close to a lovely waterfront park with a big playground and it was a perfect break for us and the kids.
Scoops is at 3820 Fay Blvd, just off Grissom Parkway, near Kelsey’s and the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, in the old Space Camp building. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a late night trip (open til 10). Disclosure: No compensation or product was exchanged for this post.
